SUMMARY

Act as the liaison between vendors, technical support hot lines and departments to resolve complex systems or network problems.  Performs as supervisor on technical projects; monitor, coordinate and review project tasks and resources; provides 3rd and 4th level technical assistance and guidance. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

 

Provide direction, ongoing supervision to the wireless network technicians.

Provide technical leadership and direction and assumes technical responsibility for completion of major projects.

Responsible for area Wireless project plans and budgets. Assists with wireless construction of towers and shelters for wireless deployment in metro and rural areas.

Performs and reviews complex work involving analysis, planning, designing, implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting and enhancement of complex networks as well as wireless networks.

Lead technical architect and systems integrator for complex systems and networks. 

Provide input on and build 802.11b/g, Wi-Fi, 700 MHz to 26.0GHz licensed and unlicensed wireless networks.

Provide hardware and communications strategies.

Participate in technical committees for the organization.

Direct and monitor technical support activities related to wireless projects and networks.

Maintain compliance to all relevant OSHA, safety or departmental specific standards as directed by supervisor.

  

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

Technical degree desired: or more than 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Technical certifications a plus.

Must have a valid Driver's License and insurable record.

Must pass drug test.

  

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

Well versed on system/network maintenance in order to maintain the system or network's integrity and reliability. 

Able to assist in the development and maintenance of disaster Recovery Plans.

Able to provide 24-hour on -call support to ensure rapid recovery from software or hardware problems for mission-critical systems and networks.
